Collection: Titanium Micro Foil
Titanium (Ti) Commercially Pure (CP) Micro foils supplied in various pre cut lengths , starting from thickness 0.001 mm Purity : 99.6+%
Titanium micro foil (thicknesses typically ranging from 0.001 mm to 0.1 mm) is a high-performance material used where standard foils are too heavy or bulky.
Because it is incredibly thin but retains titanium's signature strength and corrosion resistance, its applications are highly specialized:
1. Electronics & Microtechnology
- MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems): Micro foil is used as a substrate or structural component for tiny sensors and actuators in smartphones and automotive safety systems.
- Speaker Diaphragms: High-end audio equipment uses micro foil for treble films (tweeters). Its lightness allows for rapid vibration, producing crisp high frequencies without distortion.
- Circuitry & Sensors: It serves as a base for flexible circuits and thin-film deposition in semiconductor fabrication.
2. Medical "Active" Devices
- Pacemaker Enclosures: Its biocompatibility and non-magnetic nature make it perfect for the thin casings of pacemakers and neurostimulators.
- Drug Delivery Systems: Micro foils can be used to create tiny, precise barriers or diaphragms in implantable drug pumps.
- Surgical Mesh & Stents: Because it integrates well with human bone and tissue, it is used in micro-surgical repairs and specialized stents.
3. Energy & Clean Tech
- Hydrogen Fuel Cells: Micro foil is a critical material for bipolar plates or gas diffusion layers because it resists the acidic environment inside the cell while staying extremely thin.
- Solar Energy: Used as a substrate in some flexible solar panels and energy conversion systems.
- Nuclear & Vacuum Technology: 5N (99.999% pure) micro foils are used for "beamline windows" in particle physics because they have ultra-low outgassing in high-vacuum environments.
4. Aerospace & Defense
- Heat Shields: Despite its thinness, it can withstand extreme temperatures, making it a "skin" for heat shields on aircraft and missiles.
- E-Beam Shielding: Used in food sterilization equipment and industrial vulcanizing processes to block or direct electron beams.
